2009 Executive Board

MEET THE NEW CASTLE JAYCEES 2009 EXECUTIVE BOARD

Hannah Messner - President

Kelly Kershaw - Executive VP / Individual Development VP

Kelly is coming to the end of her second year as a Jaycee and very much looking forward to starting her third year off with a bang! Shortly after Joining the New Castle Jaycees in February 2007, Kelly chaired her first project and officially became a Board Member in 2008 as Chapter Membership Vice President. In 2009, Kelly will be serving as Executive Vice President and Individual Development Vice President, and she is looking forward to bringing lots of interesting trainings, adventures, and opportunities to the chapter. When Kelly is not working on Jaycees stuff, she's working at one of her three jobs, reading, painting, training for the Susan G. Komen 60 mile 3-day Walk, hanging out with family and friends, and living life to the fullest!

Lalena Luna - Membership Development VP

Lalena is excited to serve as Membership Vice President for 2009. She joined the New Castle Jaycees in September 2007 looking to network and get involved in her community. She quickly became an active member, volunteering and coordinating major events such as the Foster Care Holiday Party, the chapter's 50th Anniversary Party, and performing in the "Jaycee Idol" at the Mid-Year Meeting in San Diego. This year Lalena looks forward to promoting the Jaycees to the community, planning new and exciting events, increasing membership as well as helping current members to become more active and get more out of the Jaycees experience. Lalena is a Program Coordinator in the Univ. of Delaware's Activities & Programs Office and a member of the DE Office of Women in Higher Education. In her spare time she also works as a Dancer/Emcee for corporate events and mitzvahs, is a local model and promoter, and enjoys traveling, working out and entertaining friends.

Cindy Willis - Community Development VP

Cindy has been a member of the New Castle Jaycees since February 2008 and joined to meet like-minded people – those interested in giving back to the community, professional networking, and just having fun. In her short time as a member, Cindy has participated in a number of large projects, including serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for Separation Day, the chapter’s biggest fundraiser. Cindy has had a great time so far and is excited to represent the chapter as Community Development Vice President in the coming year. In addition to her work as an engineer at W.L. Gore and participating in Jaycees activities, Cindy likes to spend time hiking, reading, and playing games. She also likes to travel, and she has two great excuses to do that – family all over the US and work that regularly takes her to Europe and Asia.
